Cinemas and older venues
Athens retains a handful of older adult cinemas, mainly around Omonia. They are relics of an earlier era and largely superseded, but they still operate.
A note on the area
Omonia has been the subject of long-running regeneration efforts and has improved considerably, but it remains the roughest part of central Athens after dark. The usual advice applies: be aware, avoid the quieter side streets late, and take a taxi rather than walking back across the district at three in the morning.
