The Most Common Booking Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
Most disappointing bookings fail for a small number of predictable reasons, almost all of them within the client's control.
Booking too short
The most frequent error by a distance. An hour sounds sufficient and is not, once you account for arrival, settling in and conversation. Nearly every format works better with more time, and dinner dates simply do not function inside two hours.
Vague location details
Giving a street name in Athens without a building number, or a villa name on a Greek island with no landmark, guarantees a delay. Send a pinned location and a recognisable reference point, and answer your phone when she calls.
Building access
Athens apartment buildings frequently have entry systems that need someone to answer. Say which buzzer, or come down.
Drinking too much beforehand
The single most reliable way to spoil an evening. Judgement and communication both degrade, and most companions will end a booking with someone significantly drunk. A drink is fine; several hours in a bar first is not.
Haggling
Attempting to negotiate at the door ends bookings. The rate was agreed when you booked, and raising it on arrival is read as bad faith. If the rate exceeds your budget, book a shorter duration.
Being vague at enquiry
A message saying only 'are you available?' gets a slow answer or none. Give the date, time, duration and whether it is incall or outcall, and you will get a specific reply quickly.
Extending at the last minute
