Common Escort Scams in Greece and How to Avoid Them
The scams operating in the Greek market are a small, stable set. None are sophisticated, and all of them are avoidable if you know the shape of them.
The deposit scam
The most common by far. A listing requests an advance payment to secure the booking, usually by bank transfer, gift card or cryptocurrency. The money goes and nobody arrives. Sometimes there is a second request for a further 'confirmation fee' before the first disappears.
The rule is simple: established agencies in Greece do not require a deposit from a new client. If money is demanded before you have met anyone, it is a scam. There is no legitimate exception worth risking it for.
Recycled photographs
Profiles built from stolen imagery — usually modelling shots or photographs lifted from listings in other countries. The tell is a single polished image with no supporting set, or a set where the woman's features shift subtly between shots.
How to check
A reverse image search takes under a minute and resolves it. Also ask the agency when the photographs were taken; a genuine operator answers immediately.
Bait and switch
The booking is made against one profile and a different person arrives. This is where using an established agency genuinely protects you, because an agency with a reputation has no interest in doing this, while an anonymous listing has no reason not to.
If it happens, you are entitled to decline. You are not obliged to proceed with a booking that was misrepresented, and no reputable operator would expect you to.
Fake agency websites
Cloned sites copying the branding of established agencies, usually with a slightly altered domain and a different phone number. Check the contact number against the agency's known number from an independent source before sending money or details anywhere.
Pressure as the common thread
Every one of these relies on urgency. Decide now, pay now, the offer expires. A legitimate booking has no such pressure. If you feel rushed, that feeling is the warning.
