Escort Deposits: When They're Legitimate and When They're a Scam
Nothing divides opinion, or catches out more people, than a deposit request. It is the single most common way clients are scammed — and yet in a few specific situations it is entirely legitimate. Knowing which is which saves both your money and a good booking.
Why deposits are treated with suspicion
Because the classic scam is exactly this: an attractive profile, a warm chat, then a request to send a deposit by an untraceable method before you have met anyone. The money goes and the person vanishes. This pattern is so common that a blanket 'never pay a deposit' is reasonable default advice.
When a deposit is actually reasonable
Three situations. A touring companion carrying travel and accommodation costs against a fixed schedule. A high-end overnight or multi-day booking where she is committing a large block of time. A long-standing agency with a public reputation that operates deposits as standard policy. In these, a modest deposit protects the companion from time-wasters, which is a real problem for her too.
The test
Ask yourself: is there a verifiable, reputational entity behind this request? An established agency or a companion with a real track record elsewhere has something to lose by scamming you. An anonymous profile with no history does not.
Red flags that mean walk away
Payment demanded by gift cards, cryptocurrency, or a bank transfer to a personal name. Pressure and urgency ('someone else is asking, decide now'). A deposit for an ordinary one-hour booking with a stranger. A request that escalates — a second 'confirmation fee' after the first. Any of these, stop.
If you do pay one
Only to an established operation, only a modest proportion of the booking, and never by an irreversible method if you can avoid it. Get the terms in writing first: what it covers, what happens if either side cancels.
The safest position
For a routine booking with someone new, decline any deposit and book elsewhere — plenty of legitimate options take payment on arrival. Reserve deposits for the specific cases above, with entities you can actually verify.
